Unfortunately we do not know if any research have been made about the paintings of the Zhuang minority who live in Guanxi province of Southern China, other than in Chinese. Little seems to be known about the context of their use, except that they seems to represent, as for the paintings of the Yao minority - which are better known, their Taoist mythical kings, deiteies and ancestors, and that they were used purely for religious purpose during special ceremonies.
