Ancient Arts

All items have been excavated in Pakistan or Afghanistan (place names between brackets, if known) and are dated to around the very first centuries AD. Gandhara kingdom, now Eastern Afghanistan and North-West Pakistan, was the first place where Buddha images were made, inspired from Greek sculpture. If you are interested to know more about Gandhara civilization, its history and Alexander conquests try visiting the award winning website:
http://www.gandhara.com.au/serindia.html
All items come with selected woods or brass and plexiglass mountings, the more important pieces are mounted on a bronze stand
